Writing

All students at Stolley Park Elementary will improve written communication skills.

Rationale and Supporting Data

Stolley Park Elementary Staff has seen the percent of students proficient increase from 75% in 2006-2007 to 89% in 2009-2010.  The success in writing conferences has led staff toward implementing the formative assessment process while still continuing the use of writing conferences as one way of providing effective feedback.  Staff will utilize the formative assessment process in order to continue focusing on the six traits and the writing process.

Improvement Strategies

Communicate learning targets to all students.
