Mathematics

All students at Stolley Park Elementary will improve understanding of mathematical concepts.

Rationale and Supporting Data

The Stolley Park Elementary Staff has failed to meet the indicators of improved learning the majority of the past four years.  The lack of progress has caused the staff to focus on different improvement strategies and the formative assessment process is being used to direct instruction.  The focus on the formative assessment process will enable Stolley Park Students to increase achievement in the area of mathematics.  The data suggests that math computation continues to need to be an area of improvement.

Improvement Strategies

Communicate learning targets to all students.
Provide mathematical checks for understanding for all students.
Provide effective feedback for all students.
