These students will not be out of the number one ranking if they did not get placed in Honors English as a freshman. These students will not receive a strike if they are not in the Honors English as a freshman because they were not allowed to self-select the course during the year 2009-2010. After 2009-2010 freshmen were allowed to self-select an honors course in their freshmen year and had 3 honors choices. Honors English 1-2 and Honors English 3-4 were weighted in the gpa only in the year 2009-2010. After that more honors courses were added into the curriculum and honors was not weighted, only AP courses.
