Superintendent Rob Winter told Grand Island school board members Thursday night that he would like to shift the board's annual goal setting session from a one-year time frame to a much longer time frame.
While setting one-year goals remains advisable, Winter said he wants the board to take a very long-range view on topics such as student achievement, implementation of professional development for both certified and classified staff members, facilities and the upcoming communications audit.

"The board is in for a long haul," said Winter, who said he was cautioning people on the time they will need to invest when it comes to trying to chart the course of the Grand Island Public Schools over a multi-year period.
Winter made his comments as part of his monthly oral superintendent's report to the board. Full Story
