Wasmer teachers receive Wal-Mart certificates for school supplies

It was a big day at Wasmer Elementary Tuesday.

Both students and teachers were recognized for their work. Students won the recognition from an in-house program, conducted in cooperation with Wasmer Elementary's business partner, and the teachers were recognized by Wal-Mart South.

Forty-two students at the various grade levels at the K-5 school were recognized as "Students of the Month," an honor that earned them a certificate as well as a sticker, a pencil and candy from Wasmer's Business Partner, Home Federal Bank.

Students earned the award for showing such attributes as being caring and responsible, as well as demonstrating leadership and working hard to learn.  Full Story
