Walnut Middle School’s clubs show what they have to offer

It’s not often that more than a dozen of Walnut Middle School’s after-school clubs get to meet at the same time, but that’s what happened Thursday evening.

Inside Walnut’s commons area, the woodcarving club led a stream of students in sculpting sessions, and the craft club helped out at a rock-painting table.

Nearby, the spirit club was painting faces instead. And outside, the outdoors club was leading fly-tying demos.

The mass meeting was Walnut’s sixth annual Outdoor Expo, organized in 2004 by the outdoors club (then the fishing club) to give kids and their families a peek at the area’s outdoor opportunities.  Full Story
