Students, parents gather for Night Write at Engleman

Thursday was the kind of damp, blustery day that makes people think more of winter than spring.

Thursday night, though, was campout night at Engleman Elementary as parents and their children brought sleeping bags, pillows and flashlights to settle into a darkened gym for an event called Night Write.

The writing exercise for kids and parents was a variation on the school’s annual Family Night, which always focuses on a small slice of school curriculum.

Engleman kindergarten teacher Kate Bohling said the event usually centers on reading or math, because it is easy to plan an activity for either of those subjects.  Full Story
