In his latest blog from China, Grand Island Superintendent Steve Joel talks about his arrival in Chongqing, where he will get to see Chinese students and schools in action; how young people in Chongqing are delighted to see Americans, because they get to practice their English; and his experience in finally finding one Chinese food that he did not absolutely enjoy.
"Greetings,
The city of Chongqing is a beautiful mountain city that calls itself the largest municipality in the world. With just under 33 million people, it has breathtaking scenery provided by the convergence of 3 major rivers of China. The most famous of those is the Yantze.
Today, we toured the Three Gorges Museum in the center of the city so that we could familiarize ourselves with the heritage and culture of Chongqing.
