The Grand Island school board will be asked tonight to take action on a wide variety of issues to get ready for the 2009-10 school year, starting in August.

Those issues include everything from accepting a new bid for the Jefferson Elementary annex, to school meal prices, to a lease agreement for the Student Wellness Center, to staff adjustments in extra-standard assignments that take place outside the school day.

The changes in extra-standard assignments include a realignment of the senior drama and musical positions.

The proposal is to add one Senior High head theater position and one Senior High assistant theater position for the fall and spring. The realignment also would include eliminating one Senior High musical position and one Senior High contest drama position.  Full Story
