Seedling Mile class donates books to programs for students in need

Seedling Mile Elementary's Wildcat spirit and a love of reading have brought more than 500 books to Grand Island for young people to read.
Kindergarten teacher Amanda Julesgard came up with the idea of having students in each of the classrooms at Seedling Mile read 100 books as part of the Scholastic Book Club's "Care Where You Are" program.
First-grade teacher Susan Stoeger said all the teaching staff at Seedling Mile quickly agreed to have their students participate because that ambitious reading project perfectly fit the school's School Improvement Plan.
