School projects near completion

Both the Howard Elementary annex and the Success Academy are nearing completion, with the kindergarten annex a little closer to the finish line than the building for alternative high school and middle school students.
Dan Petsch, Grand Island Public Schools director of buildings and grounds, said school staff likely will move things into the Howard annex the weekend after Thanksgiving. That should allow kindergarten students to move in during the first week of December.
Petsch said that will come as welcome relief to Howard students and staff, who had cramped quarters last school year and have continued to work with too little space this year.
