GRAND ISLAND —
The
Grand Island and St. Paul school boards will share the spotlight on
Friday during a convention at which they will receive awards for
involving parents in their school districts.
Gov. Dave Heineman will present the Governor's Initiative Award during
the Nebraska Association of School Boards' annual convention at the
LaVista Conference Center.
Each district will give a short presentation on the programs through which they involve parents with their children's education.
In separate interviews, Grand Island school board President Lynn Cronk
and St. Paul Superintendent Doug Ackles said each of their districts
uses Infinite Campus.
The computer program allows parents to use a special access code to
track their children's grades, as well as whether they have any missing
assignments or whether their children are having any disciplinary
problems in school.
