GRAND ISLAND —
On Dec. 19, the last day of the first semester, Engleman Elementary students will get their sneak peek at their new school.

Thursday evening, a portion of the Grand Island school board and various Grand Island school district administrators got their own sneak peek at the new Engleman, whose official opening will come on the first day of the second semester.

Dan Petsch, supervisor of building and grounds, led the quick 50-minute tour, which was held right before Thursday evening's school board meeting.

Before leading people through the building, Petsch noted the cafeteria and a few other key areas can accommodate a four-unit school, which would have four classrooms per grade.

The new Engleman Elementary will start out as a three-unit school, Petsch said. The new Engleman, though, will have four spacious kindergarten rooms on the north end of the building.  Full Story
