Lynne Werner, who has elected to the Grand Island school board in 2008, has submitted a letter of resignation because she is moving to a home outside of her school ward.

The letter, dated Sept. 23, was addressed to Superintendent Harrison Cass, Jennifer Worthington, board president and the Grand Island school board.

In her letter, Werner wrote, "It has been my privilege to serve on the Grand Island Board of Education for the last two years. The voters of 'Ward B' expressed their confidence in me when I was elected in November 2008. It is with regret that I resign my position on the Board due to relocation of my personal residence from Ward B to Ward A in the City of Grand Island effective immediately."  Full Story
