School board has two days worth of issues to discuss

The Grand Island school board will have a lot on its plate when it has a two-part planning retreat this week that will begin Thursday evening and then reconvene on Saturday morning.

The two-part retreat was scheduled because school administrators and board members believe they have so much to discuss that they will need meetings on two days in order to effectively discuss all the issues without wearing down.

Among the ideas the board will discuss are:

-- Expanding the high ability learner curriculum at Senior High, perhaps by introducing an International Baccalaureate (IB) class or classes focused on global educational opportunities.  Full Story
