School board approves interim superintendent's contract

It took only about a two-minute meeting for the Grand Island school board to approve Harrison Cass Jr. of Waterloo, Iowa, as the district's interim superintendent for the 2010-11 school year.
Board President Jennifer Worthington opened the special meeting this morning by noting that board members all had copies of the contract that Cass already signed. It then only took a quick motion, second and vote for the board to approve the contract, which will pay Cass $15,417 per month.
