Restroom project at GISH football stadium just getting started

Summer often is the time that school districts get many of their large building projects completed.
But Dan Petsch, director of buildings and grounds for the Grand Island Public Schools, said that philosophy can only be taken so far. He noted that if he was adamant that each and every building project get done in the three short months of summer, that could push construction costs up.
Plus, an even bigger reason to avoid letting the school calendar dictate construction projects is the need to get projects done the right way. Doing a project "the right way" can mean ensuring that it meets not only today's school district needs, but its needs far into the future.
All those factors are in play for a project to build new restrooms for the west stadium stands just south of Grand Island Senior High.
