Barr students can decide what kind of middle school they want to have.
That is one of the messages that former Husker Matt Davison brought to Tuesday afternoon’s Purple Hands Rally to students and staff at Barr Middle School.
The Purple Hands Pledge is as follows: “I will not use my hands or my words to hurt myself or others.”
That pledge is now recited daily at all three Grand Island middle schools as well as a number of elementary schools in the district. The goal of reciting that pledge and the Purple Hands Rally is to get middle school students to think a little more deeply about the promise they make at the beginning of every school day. Most importantly, the rally is designed to get students to live up to that promise. Full Story
