Todd Enck of T.C. Enck Builders and Capt. Chris Kolb of the Nebraska State Patrol are getting to see some of Grand Island Senior High's curriculum diversity -- ELL classes, auto shop, high-ability learner program and Air Force Junior ROTC -- during their stint today as Principals for a Day.

About 15 other people from different walks of life in Grand Island are also getting a firsthand look at Grand Island's schools during the annual Principal for a Day program.

Those people are seeing classes at various Grand Island elementary and middle schools. A total of 15 Grand Island schools are hosting visitors today.

The day for Enck and Kolb began with a tour of Senior High, followed by a stop in Amanda Levos' English language learner classroom, where she was teaching world history to a group of Level 3 and Level 4 English language learners. The day's lesson had the students doing research that would allow them to compare different world religions.  Full Story
