Preschool registration dates set

Grand Island Public Schools preschool registration for the 2011-2012 school year will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day on April 21, May 26 and June 7.
Registration will be at the Early Learning Center, 4360 W. Capital Ave., said Pam Dobrovolny, early childhood supervisor for the school district.
The preschool program has half-day classes on Monday through Thursday. Morning classes are from 7:50 a.m. to 11:20 a.m., and afternoon classes are from 12:05 p.m. to 3:35 p.m. Most preschool classes are at the Early Learning Center. Times and locations of preschool classes are subject to change.
Parents are asked to bring a copy of their 2010 tax return or W-2 forms, a copy of their child's birth certificate, and a copy of their child's immunization records. Parents do not need to bring the child to registration.
Children and families qualify for the preschool program based on factors such as learning English as a second language, income, and family needs. All children who are 3 or 4 years old who are not eligible for kindergarten (turn 5 on or before Oct. 15) are encouraged to apply.
