Meeks lauds school district's dedication to student and staff development

Community and business support for education, school staff, Senior High course offerings and staff development are some of the things that Farmington, Minn., Superintendent Brad Meeks sees as strengths in the Grand Island school district.

Meeks, the third of four finalists to come to Grand Island for daylong interviews, made his comments during a short press conference Wednesday afternoon with reporters, a few hours before he was scheduled to be interviewed by the school board.

He cited the AP courses and dual-credit college courses offered at Senior High as positives for the district, noting that not every high school can offer those kinds of opportunities. He said the district's emphasis on providing staff development for teachers is another strength.  Full Story
