“Posters, chinchillas and her smile. Those three are in a dead-even tie.”
That’s what Jen Rae Hein, communications director for Gov. Dave Heineman, says first comes to her mind when she hears about Diane Meyer, fifth-grade teacher at Knickrehm Elementary in Grand Island.
For Chad Nabity, what comes to mind is his son, Will, who is “pressing to get out the door so he can go work on his posters before school.”
To Nabity, it’s a credit to Meyer that her students want to get to school 40 minutes early to work on posters. Of course, there is a reward. Nabity said lots of kids end up winning, placing or getting runnerup honors in poster contests.
