When it comes to making posters, fifth-grader Will Nabity of Knickrehm Elementary School knows his stuff.

Nabity was the winner of the Nebraska Arbor Day National Poster Contest. The 2009 theme, "Trees are Terrific…in Cities and Towns," was designed to increase students’ understanding of the importance of trees in a community.

Nabity’s poster was chosen for the first place honors from more than 1,100 entries.

Earlier this year, Nabity was the winner of the fifth and sixth grade division of the 2009 Nebraska Department of Agriculture’s National Ag Week poster contest. Next month, Gov. Dave Heineman will visit Knickrehm to honor Nabity for his achievement.  Full Story
