Islandaires fund raiser teaches dance to younger kids

Grand Island Senior High was abuzz with loud music, counting and giggling Saturday afternoon as the Islandaire Dance Team taught grade school girls how to bust a move.

The 10th annual dance clinic got underway at 1 p.m. with a few ice-breaking games followed by 60 girls in grades kindergarten through fifth being divided by age and sent to different parts of the school to learn routines from the Islandaires.

Coach Stephanie Wald said the 10-member Islandaire team picked the songs during a practice and then partnered up to choreograph short routines for the younger students to learn Saturday.  Full Story
