Innovative program teaches children's math to the parents

For Xiomara Kristales, the new math that her daughter, Amy Gaitan, a fourth-grader at Wasmer Elementary School, is learning in school is "awesome."

"They are learning to do it a different way and it's better for them to learn," Kristales said.

When asked if she understood the new math, Kristales said, "Yeah, I got it."

Now, Kristales will be able to help Amy with her math homework, as she is still struggling with some of the new math learning curriculum concepts.  Full Story
