In Earth Day program, students encourage peers to live green

It looked quite a bit like St. Patrick's Day at the Gates Elementary School gym on Thursday afternoon.

Green shirts were scattered through the students and staff gathered there for a schoolwide assembly, like a canvas splashed with green paint.

There was plenty of green in front of the crowd, too, especially as third-grader Kiara McInturf addressed her classmates dressed in a tree costume made from paper and cardboard.  Full Story
