Help for the homeless

For the third year in a row, the Grand Island school district has received backpacks, food and school supplies for its homeless students from Feed the Children.

The gift, which arrived late Thursday morning, is the result of work done by Roger Reikofski, head of homeless education for the Nebraska Department of Education.

Reikofski applied for aid from Homeless Education and Literacy Program operated by Feed the Children, which is based in Oklahoma City.  Full Story
