Grand Island, Northwest eye stimulus money

The Grand Island public schools might get up to $3 million in federal stimulus money over the next two years.

Jim Werth, assistant superintendent for student services for the Grand Island public schools, said he met with a Nebraska Department of Education official about the stimulus bill.

Despite the meeting, Werth cautioned that all the estimates on additional revenue are preliminary and subject to change.

Northwest public schools Business Manager Sharon Placke said Northwest officials have received no information on how much money that district will receive.  Full Story
