Grand Island Senior High will host a Central Nebraska State Championship Wrestling Celebration at 7 p.m. Wednesday in its west gym.

All four high schools that took home state wrestling titles in 2011 — Grand Island Senior High in Class A, Central City in Class B, Wood River in Class C and Amherst in Class D — are from Central Nebraska and are only 87 miles apart.

Central City is the farthest east and 87 miles from Amherst, the westernmost community. The event will be attended by all four championship teams and is open to the public.

Grand Island Senior High will celebrate its third consecutive championship from 9:40 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.  Full Story
