GISH students to teach on water

The premise is simple: To teach a subject to others, a person must first know the subject himself.

That's why students in Lacey Westerby's environmental science class have been presenters at the Children's Groundwater Festival in Grand Island for the past five years.

Westerby, who has taught at Senior High for five years, said she remembers attending the Children's Groundwater Festival when she was a grade school student at Litchfield. As a result of that experience, Westerby knew that the groundwater festival was a worthwhile educational experience, even for high school students.
