GISH students receive history lesson in Honor Flights

World War II and other veterans received a standing ovation Monday after Grand Island Senior High students watched KHAS-TV news reports about the Heartland Honor Flight program.

The 8 a.m. assembly for freshmen taking American history this year is part of Greg Morrow’s ongoing efforts to show students that history is not confined to books.

The freshmen are now studying World War II.

Morrow, though, said credit for Monday’s program in Senior High’s auditorium should go to his wife, Tracy, a Gates Elementary teacher.  Full Story
