Grand Island Senior High will give theater-goers a double dose of Shakespeare and a double dose of comedy when its students perform "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)."
"A Midsummer's Night Dream" will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, while "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
All performances will be in the Little Theater at Senior High.
Director Greg Ulmer said "A Midsummer Night's Dream" will get a very traditional staging. Ulmer said the humor in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" comes from the fairies deliberately putting spells on others, partly to serve their own purposes and partly for their own amusement.
