GISH honored alumnus tells students of future in space travel

Rex Ridenoure, one of five Grand Island Senior High School Hall of Honor inductees, told students on Friday the next frontiers in space may not be breached by NASA, but by commercial entrepreneurs.

"We've had 500 (different) people in space," Ridenoure said, talking about U.S., Soviet and Chinese manned flights made as a result of government programs.

In the next 10 to 12 years, there may be as many as 10,000 people who will have flown in space, he told the students.  Full Story
