GISH alumni to be recognized at 2009 Hall of Honor Banquet

The Grand Island Education Foundation will honor three alumni and two former teachers at the 2009 Grand Island Senior High Hall of Honor Banquet at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Bosselman Conference Center at the Heartland Events Center.

The evening will include a reception, dinner and program. Tickets, at $40 per person, can be purchased at the school district’s Kneale Administration Building and GI Family Radio.

The late Ronald L. Moore, a banker, golfer and philanthropist, class of 1950; Rosemarie Keller Skaine, author and sociologist, class of 1954; and Jean A. Ochsner Lukesh, retired teacher and author, class of 1968, are being honored with induction into the Hall of Honor.

Former orchestra teacher Larry Maupin and former math teacher and coach Jerry Lee (deceased) will be presented with the inaugural Legendary Educator Awards. (See story below.)  Full Story
