G.I. Senior High School hosting district music contest

Approximately 1,400 students will participate in the Nebraska School Activities Association District Music Contest April 23 at Grand Island Senior High School. Christa Speed, orchestra director at the high school, is coordinating the contest in Grand Island.

Schools participating in the district music contest include Grand Island Senior High School and Grand Island Northwest.

Other participating districts include Adams Central, Aurora, Central City, Cozad, Gibbon, Gothenburg, Hastings, Kearney, Lexington, St. Paul, and Wood River, Speed said.



Choirs, bands, orchestras, small instrumental and vocal ensembles, and instrumental and vocal soloists will perform. Student performers will receive critiques and ratings from judges.  Full Story
