G.I. schools sponsoring 5k run/walk

Grand Island Public Schools will sponsor a 5-kilometer fun run/walk at 8:30 a.m. May 22 at Stuhr Museum.
Barr Middle School counselor Holee Hanke and Walnut Middle School social worker Julie Schlachter are coordinating the event.
Registration forms are available at Barr, Walnut and Westridge middle schools; the Kneale Administration Building; and also may be downloaded from Grand Island Public Schools’ Web site at www.gips.org.
Hanke and Schlachter decided to organize the fun run/walk after attending a national middle school conference where the importance of exercise was emphasized.
