G.I. schools, CCC officials to begin designing CTEC curriculum

Manufacturing/industrial technology, transportation/logistics and information/communications systems are the career cluster areas that the Grand Island Public Schools and Central Community College have targeted to begin their enhanced and more expansive career and technical education program.

Robin Dexter, assistant superintendent for the Grand Island Public Schools, said Central Community College and Senior High officials are meeting this year to design the curriculum.

Gregg Christensen of the Nebraska Department of Education is working with CCC and Senior High educators.

Superintendent Rob Winter said there have been some meetings already this year, but the first time that Senior High and CCC staff will meet with a more formal agenda will be Monday.  Full Story
