More than 280 Grand Island residents have been invited to an April 28 community conversation on education.

More specifically, that conversation will focus on closing the achievement gap between higher-performing students and those who may be struggling academically.

Invitations to the community conversation were issued by the Nebraska State Education Association.

The NSEA chose people using a list of names supplied by the Grand Island public schools, Grand Island Young Professionals, Grand Island Education Association, Grand Island Leadership Tomorrow and the Multicultural Coalition.  Full Story
