G.I. school board to consider 2012-13 calendar

The Grand Island school board will be asked to approve the 2012-13 school calendar when it meets Thursday night for its January board meeting.

The first day of school for kindergartners through fifth-graders will be Aug. 14, with a 2 p.m. dismissal. Ninth-graders also will be in class until 2 p.m. on Aug. 14, while sixth-graders will attend school from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and seventh- and eighth-graders will attend school from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.  Full Story
