This is the first blog from Grand Island Superintendent Steve Joel, who is on a tour of China. Joel has promised to write a daily blog during his tour of China, although as the his first blog entry makes clear, he may face some technological challenges.
"I realized as soon as I walked into the hotel room that I was missing the adapter to hook up to broadband in my room. I called everyone and appear to be out of luck.
After a couple hours searching, I finally found a wireless location but they are going to be hard to find especially when we leave for the province. So I don't know how much communication I will have.
The flight from Chicago to Bejing is brutal. The plane was jammed and people seemed to be on top of each other waiting to walk the aisles.
