Dodge students tell why G.I. is 'worth the trip'

Take it from Dodge Elementary students: Coming to Grand Island during sandhill crane season is "Worth the Trip."

The students found a way to get that message out to more than 2 million people via Disney's "FamilyFun" Magazine, which has readers in all 50 states.

The students' travel advice was in "Worth the Trip," a regular feature in the magazine, which publishes 10 issues per year. The travel tips typically come from families, who provide a brief description of a place they enjoyed visiting.

But in this case, the tip came from last year's third-grade class at Dodge Elementary School. School librarian/integration specialist Jan Tell helped the third-graders tie two "Golden Sower" book nominees to the "Worth The Trip" magazine feature.  Full Story
