GRAND ISLAND —
Waving
hands were still in the air when children's author Kelly DiPucchio had
to wrap up her presentation called "How A Book Is Born" at Shoemaker
Elementary School Tuesday morning.
Second- and third-graders still had plenty of questions to ask
DiPucchio, which was a great sign that she had captured the kids'
interest.
And why not?
How often do students get to sing poetry such as "A-Camping We Will
Go," "Home of the Strange," "Blow, Blow, Blow Your Nose," "I've Been
Running Over Road Toads," and "Do Your Guts Hang Low?"
The poetry was sung to such familiar tunes "The Farmer In the Dell,"
"Home on the Range," "Row, Row, Row Your Boat," and "I've Been Working
on the Railroad."
