Berkley graduate shares story of tough childhood

Daniel Mora grew up in a world of violence.

He got beat up, got kicked out of school, associated with gang members and witnessed his father abuse his mother.

He dropped out of school and ended up in juvenile detention centers more than six times.

It would have been easy for Mora to continue down his criminal path. Instead, he discovered an outlet for his anger through writing and music, was paired with a caring mentor, finished high school and recently graduated from the University of California Berkeley.  Full Story
