Barr students collect food for Salvation Army

Barr Middle School students just finished a food drive in which they collected more than 1,000 cans of food for the Salvation Army.

Seventh-grade students organized the drive as part of their Gang Resistance Education and Training (GREAT) community service project, said Joan Black, a social studies teacher at Barr.

The food was delivered to the Salvation Army on Monday. This is the second year for the project.  Full Story
