At outset, CTEC to focus on manufacturing

The year’s final Design Team meeting for the proposed career and technical education center (CTEC) program was held Wednesday, and most people in attendance were in agreement on one aspect: The initial curriculum development should be in the area of manufacturing.

That was not a surprise since the Design Team was heavily populated with representatives from local manufacturing firms and manufacturing plays a vital role in Hall County’s economy.

However, some Design Team members were thrown slightly off balance when a limited student survey showed relatively little interest in manufacturing or production work.
