After School Program gives students time for homework and other projects

It was 3:30 p.m. Thursday and as usual many students from Grand Island Senior High were heading home or to work, either in their own cars or a vehicle driven by a parent or other relative.

However, while most students were leaving, nearly 40 students were voluntarily \ staying behind in Senior High's media center/library for the school's After School Program, which is now early in its third year.

Those students were joined by four Senior High teachers, including world history teacher Shaun Willey.  Full story
