A lesson in bubbleology

Fourth- and fifth-grade children stepped into hula-hoop-size bubbles Tuesday for a lesson in the wonders of surface tension.

Two blue plastic pools filled with homemade bubble solution had two cinder blocks each, where the children could stand. Volunteers from the Hastings Science Club raised hula-hoops that had been immersed in the solution around the children to create the gleaming sheet, a human-size bubble.  Full Story
