Madisyn Springer’s good deeds didn’t start or stop with her calculator project last year at Howard Elementary School.
But it was that project that gained her attention and accolades, including this year’s Young Community Builder Award from The Grand Island Independent.
“In addition to the annual Man and Woman of the Year honors, The Grand Island Independent editorial board has on occasion recognized individuals and groups for their efforts to make our community a better place,” Independent Publisher Don Smith said. “Because of the extraordinary example set for young people through Madisyn’s leadership, caring and generosity, we added a special Young Community Builder of the Year designation this year.
