'A Christmas Carol' coming to GISH stage again

If all goes as planned, there will be a Grand Island version of "God bless us everyone" during intermission of "A Christmas Carol" on Sunday at Senior High.

At that time, Katie Burns, 5, should be receiving a customized AmTryke courtesy of GISH students.

Katie has cerebral palsy and is unable to pedal a traditional bicycle. Erica Haberman works with the kindergartner at the Children's Rehab Center and wanted to do something special for her. She asked her father, John Haberman, to donate the money he planned to spend on her Christmas gifts to the cause and said she'd ask others to do the same. But an AmTryke can cost between $600 and $1,500, he said.  Full Story
