They will complete miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning out their lockers and settling their lunch accounts, then wave "goodbye" to their old school as they board buses to go to the new school at 8:15 a.m. Dec. 21.
Events scheduled for the remainder of the day on Dec. 21 include:
*8:30 a.m.: Students arrive at the new school and enter the school through assigned entrances.
*8:40 a.m.: Teachers will escort students to their Prime Time rooms.
*8:40 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.: Students will receive their schedules for the third nine-week grading period, unload items into their new lockers, tour the new building, and walk to rooms on their third quarter schedules.
*10:45 a.m.: Students will attend an assembly in the auditorium featuring Dr. Steve Joel, superintendent; Lynn Cronk, Board of Education president; and Dan Brosz, Westridge principal.
*11 a.m.: Grand Island Senior High School students will present vocal and instrumental music concerts.
*Noon: Students will be dismissed by grade levels for a brown bag luncheon prepared by school food service workers at the old Westridge building.
*12:30 p.m.: Students will return to their assigned seats in the auditorium. The school's Parent Action Team will provide a short movie with a secular holiday theme.
*1:50 p.m.: Students will be dismissed from the auditorium to their Prime Time classrooms.
*2 p.m.: Students will listen to announcements, then depart from school at their assigned exits.
